WHY THIS CHARGING STATION FOR THE E-CAR AT HOME?
Technical highlights of the Heidelberg Wallbox Home Eco
- The charging station is connected to 230 volts (single-phase) or 400 volts (three-phase).
- Please do not install the wallbox yourself, but contact a qualified electrician who can install your charging station quickly and easily.
- The installation costs are low thanks to the integrated residual current detection DC 6 mA according to IEC62955.
- The charging power is adjustable: e.g. 1.4 kW / 3.7 kW / 7.2 kW / 11 kW.
- The length of the cable is 3.5 m, 5 m or 7.5 m.
- The solid, durable metal housing defies the most adverse weather conditions. Positioning the charging station outdoors is therefore possible without any problems.
- A compact wallbox weighing approx. 8 kg that is also visually impressive.
- The charging station is intuitive to operate, maintenance-free and suitable for all vehicles with a standardised type 2 charging socket.

We are frequently asked this
CHARGING STATION OR EARTHED SOCKET FOR THE E-CAR?
You can charge more safely with the wallbox
At first you might ask yourself: Isn’t a household socket enough for regular charging of my electric or hybrid vehicle? Well, the normal socket is not recommended. We are not writing this out of opportunistic motives. The ADAC also argues that normal sockets are not suitable for long periods of charging under heavy load. In fact, they are only designed for a continuous load of up to 10 amps and can charge at a maximum of 2.3 kW.
In the worst case, this can lead to overheating and a cable fire, which not only costs a lot of money but also a lot of nerves. You can be as safe as possible with a wallbox that has been professionally installed by a qualified electrician and meets the highest quality and safety standards.
This does not mean that you cannot also charge your electric car or hybrid vehicle at a three-phase socket (red CEE plug, 400 V, max. 32 A) or at a household socket (safety plug, 230 V, 10 A). However, it is important that the charging cable has certain communication and protection functions. The so-called cable with ICCB (In-Cable-Control-Box).
You charge faster with the wallbox
Thanks to the high charging power of 11 kW, which is achieved thanks to a three-phase connection, you can charge your electric or hybrid vehicle much faster with a charging station than at the household socket. This gives you flexibility in your everyday life and you can always be sure that you will reach your destination without any problems.
We are often asked whether 11 kW or 22 kW wallboxes are better. We can assure you: 11 kW is perfectly sufficient, because hardly any electric car can charge AC at 22 kW. Our expert Christian can provide you with more information here.
With the wallbox you charge more efficiently
Charging via a permanently connected wallbox is more efficient and energy-saving than via plug-in charging sets. With a commonly occurring contact resistance of 0.1 Ω at a socket, a charging current of 10 A at the socket produces a power loss of up to 10 W. This is more than a TV set needs in standby mode. This is more than a television set needs in stand-by mode. Charging via the permanently connected charging station therefore protects the environment and your wallet.
Frequently asked questions
A question that we unfortunately have to answer with no. Private charging stations are no longer subsidised in Germany. You can find a comprehensive overview on the topic of subsidies here.
No, this is not permitted. We ask you to contact a qualified electrician for the installation. This person is then also liable for the professional installation and reports this to the grid operator.
