Our Wallbox Checklist

for electricians:

Even before the installation, you should have clarified the most important questions of your customers. The following points should therefore not be missing from any checklist:

  1. Check 1: Housing situation
    Does the customer live in a house, rent or own an apartment? Depending on the living situation, there are different legal requirements to consider. In principle, the new Condominium Modernization Act gives everyone the right to install a private wallbox. This also applies to tenants.
  2. Check 2: Place of installation
    Where exactly should the wallbox be installed? In the carport or outside? It makes sense to check the condition, load-bearing capacity or strength of a wall. Also, if an e-charging column is to be installed, the substrate must be prepared accordingly here (e.g. concrete foundation).
  3. Check 3: Power infrastructure
    Is a power connection available directly on site - or does it first have to be laid at great expense? Of course, this also affects your calculation. Is there a three-phase connection with ahe voltage of 400 volts? Then a charging power of 11 kW can be achieved with 16 amps. An extension to 32 amps allows a 22 kW charging power.
  4. Check 4: Charging power and charging time
    3.7 kW, 11 kW or 22 kW wallbox? The vehicle's charging power also determines the possible wallbox charging power and the speed at which the electric or hybrid car should normally be charged. Also good to know: An 11 kW wallbox only needs to be registered with the responsible network operator, while a 22 kW wallbox requires more detailed approval.
  5. Check 5: Charging points
    Clarify in advance how many charging points the customer wants to use and how many vehicles are to be charged at the same time. In this case, also address local load management. This is particularly recommended if more than one vehicle is to be charged at the same time.
  6. Check 6: Zusatzfunktionen
    Immer häufiger sind auch Zusatz-Features gewünscht, insbesondere, wenn es um das smarte Laden geht. Ein Beispiel sind separate Stromzähler oder spezielle Abrechnungssysteme. Eine Steuerung der Wallbox per LAN oder WLAN bzw. eine Nutzerautorisierung per Schlüsselkarte, Charge-App oder RFID-Karte werden ebenfalls immer mehr gefordert.
