Definition and advantages
What is a mobile wallbox?
A mobile wallbox is not tied to a specific location - it does not have to be installed in a garage, in carports or in parking lots - and enables flexible charging on the road. All that is required is to connect the hybrid or electric vehicle to CEE 16 A sockets that are widely available throughout Europe. A good mobile wallbox has a low weight and space-saving dimensions to guarantee problem-free transport in the vehicle. It is especially suitable for frequent drivers, travelers, campsites or workshops that do not want to or cannot depend on the (expandable) e-charging infrastructure.
Installation is not necessary
Mobile wallboxes such as the Amperfied Charger compact.lite do not need to be installed. The Type 2 charging cable can simply be connected to existing CEE 16 A sockets and takes care of important overcurrent, overtemperature and other protective functions. It is also not necessary to set the amperage or charging power.
With the mobile charging station you charge safely
The type 2 charging cable of our mobile wallbox can only be removed when the plug is unlocked from the vehicle. With the lockable Wallmount Compact, you can securely attach the mobile wallbox to an indoor or outdoor wall. You can release it again with a simple flick of the wrist. Should you be motorically untalented or a driving talent like me and accidentally drive over the mobile wallbox, that's no problem either: The Amperfied Charger compact.lite is absolutely robust, drop-proof and drive-over-proof.
With the mobile wallbox you save money
One advantage over a permanently installed wallbox is that there are no installation costs. These must always be carried out by a specialist company and can vary depending on the installation effort based on the conditions on site. In addition, household electricity is generally cheaper than at public charging stations. Another plus point: The mobile wallbox Amperfied Charger compact.lite is completely maintenance-free and does not incur any follow-up costs.
Can I charge at the Schuko socket?
You may have already read that you can also connect a mobile charging station to a normal Schuko socket using an adapter. But is that true? Well, in theory it is, but in practice you'll have to live with a limited charging capacity to avoid any safety risk. This is because Schuko sockets are only designed for a maximum charging power of 10 A (2.2 kW). If the charging power is higher, the risk of fire increases. Even an adapter does not change this. You would therefore not be able to use the possible 16 A charging power (3.7 kW) of the Amperfied Charger compact.lite .
